Sulev Raik is a Partner at Prudentia. He has 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He started his career as a stockbroker on the Tallinn Stock Exchange in the mid-90s as a junior partner at the investment banking company Baltic Cresco Investement Group. Cresco was a leading sales and trading company in Estonia outside the commercial banks with the main focus being on corporate finance. During the 1990s, it was actively involved in the privatization process, M&A transactions, IPOs and company listings. Cresco’s prime deals included the privatization of Estonian Air together with Maersk Air from Denmark and the IPO of Estonian leading construction company Merko Ehitus with listing on the Tallinn Stock Exchange.

Prior to joining Investment Agency (Prudentia’s predecessor), Sulev worked for 14 years as a fund manager at SEB Varahaldus focusing on Eastern European equity markets and, later on, more narrowly on Russian investments, which grew to EUR 1 billion by 2011. His work has been highly rated by S&P, Morningstar and Citywire. Sulev was ranked as the best fund manager in Russian category in 2012 in Switzerland by Thomson Reuters and he was awarded the Lipper Fund Award. He has been in the top three in the charts for Russian funds by the Swedish Dagens Industry and German Axel Springer Financial Media.

Sulev joined the Investment Agency team (Prudentia’s predecessor) in 2017 as an advisor of M&A transactions. His most notable achievement in Investment Agency was advising the sale of TMB, one of the largest regional precast concrete element producers, Finnish and Latvian operations to Consolis Group, owned by the US multi-asset alternative investment firm Bain Capital. Consolis’ initial plan was to acquire the whole TMB group, but Estonian and Finnish antitrust authorities did not approve the deal and the transaction had to be revisited and restructured, which made the whole process especially complex.
